Stephen & Caly : Wedding (Just for Fun :)

Love these two :) My brother and sis-in-law have been married for almost 7 years now! They didn't have any outdoor portraits at their wedding, or really any of just them two either. So before wedding season this year we went out to the Nelson Art Gallery in KC for some photos. It was a lot of fun! I love how comfortable they are with each other, and how apparent their love for one another is. It makes me smile :) Afterwards we (my fiance/second shooter Daniel and I) and these two love birds went to Blue Koi in Westport. Best. Veggie. Dumplings. EVER! And their tofu and 'awesome' sauce is amazing!! Now that I've made you all hungry...Enjoy the photos!

Lauren : Senior

This is probably my favorite senior session so far. I think I say that about every session...which is a good thing I think because it means I'm getting better! Or at least I think I'm getting better :) Ha. I drove out to meet Lauren at Lake Lotawana for her senior shoot. What a beautiful place for a photo shoot!! Her parents drove us around in their golf cart :) Lotsa fun!

For some reason blogger desaturated all the images :(

Well hi! I've decided I need to start blogging more...We'll see how long it lasts :)

I had the pleasure of photographing Eric & Amy Rogers' Wedding Vow Renewal. These two have been married for quite some time, but didn't have the typical wedding extravaganza the first time around. Their renewal was at Acquaint Gathering in Grain Valley, MO. Very fun people with a lot of very fun friends means a very fun time! Amy and Eric, thanks for letting me be a part of your day! And another extremely long break in between posts...I do apologize! I suppose it's time to play a little catch up! Here are a few photos from the portrait sessions I've done since last I posted. I'll put up a different post for the weddings :)

First is Emily Rogers, 2011 Senior. We went to the scenic Old Longview Lake area for some photos!

Next is Kylie Cates, 2011 Senior. It was a super windy and quite chilly day but we made it through with some neat photos!

Next is my dear sister Emily and her two adorable children. It was freeeeeeezing and getting quite dark but we managed to get a few pictures out of it!

And finally there's sweet baby Tessa. She was soooo good for our little photoshoot!

WOW It's been a while since I've updated this thing! Working and schooling have really kept me busy. I haven't had much time for photography lately, which, in my opinion, is very sad indeed :( I do apologize for the fact that it's been THREE MONTHS since this beautiful wedding and I'm just now posting this! Anyway, back to the point. Linda and Ryan contacted me a while back to do their wedding for them. They both live in California and were getting married in Iowa, so most of their wedding planning was done via phone or internet, which I'm sure can be pretty frustrating! The time came and we headed out to beautiful, middle-of-nowhere-Iowa for their private wedding and amazingly gorgeous reception! I LOVED the scenery we had for the photos, and the subjects were pretty darn gorgeous themselves! Take a look!

When photography first became a passion of mine, sure I had in mind that someday down the road I might start a little business doing portraits and family shots for people. But photographing weddings scared me. When Becky asked me to photograph her wedding for her, I was reluctant to say yes! Of course I LOVE taking and editing pictures and all, but there was this thought in the back of my head that weddings were way outta my league. Now, I can easily say weddings are by FAR my favorite! And I've only done two! I'm so happy with the results of my first wedding gig. I hope you find them enjoyable too!!!

The Hoskins Fam

I got a call from one Billie Jean Hoskins a while ago, wanting to set up a shoot. I recognized the last name but didn't realize until I got to the park that the Hoskins used to live a few streets away from my family, and we used to play with them when we were little. Billie and Steven have a son, Stevie, the adorable child in the pictures below. Samuel was there also, Steven's brother. We had a lovely time scouting Loose Park for some good spots. Little Stevie was soooo good! I think he only fussed like twice and stopped seconds later! I was blessed to be able to capture this beautiful family. Take a look at the photos below, and please pray for Stevie and his upcoming surgery.

Anna Burgen - Senior Photos

Wow, am I behind. Yes. I am. I am a busy girl. Someday I will be able to do photography full-time and finally get out of the restaurant business! Oh what a glorious day that will be! Anyway, I had a lovely lil time with Anna Burgen a while ago...heh. We had to cancel and postpone the photoshoot many many times due to weather and unexpected events, but we finally got around to it one beautiful saturday morning in downtown KC and Loose Park. It really was a gorgeous day. The sun was blocked by buildings and trees, but still visible in the pictures, so the lighting was great. Anna brought a ton of fun outfits. I think I ended up with about 1300 pictures that day...hah! But narrowed it down to about 200. Anyway, here are some of my favorites from the shoot! Tell me what you think!

If you are frugal as I am, I suggest just buying the print and finding a frame at a retail store as they run pretty cheap.

I have this photo below in an 11x14 canvas and I love it. Also, I re-edited the photo and took out the tree on the right, so now there are two options, with the tree and without, for sale!

--note: my name/logo will be much smaller as less noticeable on your prints, I just made it bigger for safety reasons :)

Aubree & Jacob

I took some Easter photos of the same baby from the last post and his cousin, Aubree. It was gorgeous out, a little muddy, but not too bad. It was Jacob's first time outside for a relatively long period of time and he didn't like the sun too much...so we went into the shade, which was better for lighting anyway, seeing as how it was around noon that I took their photos! I'm not a fan of shooting in the middle of the day, unless it's overcast or I can find some good shady spots. I guess Aubree has been watching America's Next Top Model lately...haha, she had some great poses! Here are some of my favorites from the shoot!

Baby Jacob

Hello friends. I hope you are well. I had the wonderful pleasure of photographing a beautiful baby boy a few weeks past (I'm really bad about updating this....) and I thought I should share that session with anyone who might read this.

It just so happened to be raining the day of the shoot...and immediately began snowing enormous flakes when I arrived at Leanna's house. Soooo we did the shoot indoors, on the living room floor. Jacob was so good at first! Just looking at me and wondering who i was and what i was doing i suppose. He didn't enjoy changing outfits very much...but I think I still got some nice shots in! Oh hello. I suppose this is my blog. Welcome.

So I thought I'd start one of these so I could have my own photo-website...kinda.

Anywho, I'm not one for writing. Or spelling. Or capitalizing. But I will behave for you all.

Someday I hope to have my own little photography business. And I figured this was a good place to start?

This was taken in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. I'm a big fan.

So I don't have too much experience in photography, but I'd like to say I have some. I have been lucky enough to be related to the four most adorable children on the face of this planet, and that has brought me the bulk of my photos. Photographing children is wonderful. They are so energetic and expressive in their faces and bodies. Here's a few of my favorites of the kids from the last year.
